Collection of information  

When you register to use the calculators, training and quality assurance resources on this website, we collect registration details to ensure they are being used appropriately and to maintain privacy of patients involved in photography and videos included on the website.

This website also uses Google Analytics cookies to automatically collect personal information when you are browsing or otherwise using our website.  

A cookie is a package of data which is stored temporarily on your computer (or in memory) to identify you as a visitor to the website. You can choose to disallow cookies by changing settings on your web browser. However, if you reject all cookies you will not be able to use some of the  website.

The information collected includes:

  • the server and IP (Internet Protocol) address of the machine that has accessed the website
  • the dates and times of each page visit to the website
  • the pages accessed and documents downloaded
  • the type of browser, operating system and device type used

Cookies may also store the following information: session (numbered key) and duration. A numbered key is a unique server-generated number used to identify the current session.  The session key can be linked back to a user's login identification.

Examples of how we will use or disclose your personal information include:

  • Usernames, email addresses and passwords are used for verification purposes to enable access to the calculators located on the website.
     
  • Information automatically collected on the website is used for statistical and business purposes such as diagnosing a fault and improving our services. The information is stored with Google and is generally not accessible except to authorised site administrators for these purposes.  We may publish this information in aggregate (de-identified) form to assist with improving the services offered by the website.
